The following is a list of the services provided at the Los Angeles Center for Neuropsychology. These services are the diagnostic and consultative services available on an outpatient basis.

  • Neuropsychological Evaluation: A comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation is conducted to assess memory and thinking. Domains of cognition assessed include attention, concentration, speed of thinking, expressive and receptive language, visuoperception, learning and memory, motor functioning, and more complex, executive functioning. Psychological and personality assessment may also be included in the evaluation.
  • Psychodiagnostic Evaluation: A comprehensive personality assessment is completed to assess present-state emotional and characterological functioning. Areas assessed include mood, affect, personality, disposition, reality testing, interpersonal relatedness, stress tolerance, and ideation.
  • Geriatric Neuropsychological Evaluation: A comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation is conducted with seniors and geriatrics. Assessments are often conducted to assess memory capabilities, to rule out the presence of a dementia disorder, and to evaluate various capacities, including financial capacity, driving capacity, and independent living capacity.
  • ADHD/Learning Disability Evaluation: A comprehensive evaluation is conducted to assess the presence of ADHD and/or learning disorders that can adversely impact a student’s ability to fully benefit from a standard classroom environment and to demonstrate one’s knowledge and potential in a standardized examination setting.
  • Independent Medical Examination: A comprehensive evaluation with review of all available medical records is completed, typically conducted to answer questions regarding a client’s injury, condition, or capacity.
  • Peer Review: A consultative service involving the comprehensive review of provided records is completed without contact with the patient. Reviews are typically completed to answer questions regarding a patient’s injury or condition.
  • Forensic Services: Forensic services include client evaluations, record review, report preparation, deposition and court testimony and expert witness consultation.
